A tearful President Nelson, who has deep ties to China, announced a temple in Shanghai on April 5, 2020. The temple is still in the planning stages and will have strict attendance rules once completed. It will only be for native Chinese members and no non-Chinese citizen will be permitted to enter. 

A historic temple in Dubai was also announced.
