Testing a General Electric branded, Samsung manufactured, 5,200 BTU window air conditioner model ASV05LCS1. The unit was made in 2002. It utilizes a Samsung rotary compressor with R-22 refrigerant. These were very good machines, definitely some of the last.

The unit took some time to start working, as it did last year, but then it seemed to operate normally. Last year, sequential starts the days and weeks following took a more typical amount of time for the unit to get working. I have no idea why it's like this, but I don't think it's a cause for concern. The compressor sounds healthy and power and temperature readings are reasonable.
