Down and Dirty Basement Demos: Part 1.
Aslan Overdrive II is a dual pedal featuring 2 independent transistor- based overdrive circuits.
1. The Not Safe circuit has controls for tone, volume, gain, bite and Attack. It also has a voicing toggle to go from asymmetrical (Flesh) clipping with a Germanium diode and 2 silicons, to symmetrical harder sounding clipping (Bone) with just the 2 silicon diodes.
2. The Good circuit has controls for tone, volume, gain, bite, and Deep magic. That last one controls how hard the Not Safe hits the Good when you stack them.
Each circuit has its own feel and it a significantly different flavor from the numerous op-amp based Overdrives on the market. Each side can go from dead clean to really gnarly, fuzzed out drive by manipulating the controls.
