How to paint rocks and trees with a palette knife is a 55 minute tutorial with some of my best, easiest and simplest palette knife painting tricks that I have developed over the years . In this step by step acrylic tutorial, I show how to add texture, how to mix the colors, make bold sweeping areas, or the smallest details, just depending on how you hold, load and angle and the knife. Rocks take on a 3D effect with just a few sweeps of the knife on the surface.

I am using professional heavy body acrylic paint. The colors are: white, Phalo blue, Ultramarine blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Cadmium Red Medium, Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber, ' "Bob Ross style " multi-sided palette knife by creative mark # 61 and a T2 small rounded creative mark palette knife, 1/2 inch flat acrylic paint brush.
