Grab a helmet, pick up a power tool, and prepare to build — KU’s Dirt Works Studio teaches third- and fourth-year architecture students how to bring a project to life from the ground up. Chad Kraus’ studio in KU’s School of Architecture & Design has been internationally recognized for several design-build projects, including the 2019 spring transformation of two classrooms in Nunemaker Hall.
Under the direction of Kraus, associate professor of architecture, the Nunemaker project received an honorable mention in the Architectural Design/Educational Buildings category from the Architecture Masterprize world-wide competition.
