➡️ @Polyphia have been taking the guitar world by storm lately, and honestly, just disrupting the music industry entirely with a sold-out world tour and a new record that is about as innovative as it gets. This is lightning in a bottle, guys. Tim Henson and Scott LePage have crafted some pop masterpieces, disguised by brilliant fretboard wizardry. How can a band blend these worlds so well? In this video, I listen to "Ego Death" by Polyphia for the very first time, which features a guest appearance by Steve Vai, who needs no introduction. I focus on the fresh bass grooves from bassist Clay Gober, his unique "pop picking" hybrid picking style of playing, his bass tone, the genius of Polyphia's songwriting (and presentation), and a little bit of music theory when I can catch it fly by! I'm super proud of these guys.
