Wonderful tent camping in Andrew Molera State Park Campground in Big Sur, CA just off CA-1. There are 24 spacious campsites, majority have some shade. There are flushing toilets with running water on both ends of the campground. There are also water spigots littered throughout.

Just a short walk from the end of the campground is Copper Cabin. Continuing on that trail takes you to the Big Sur River. There used to be a connecting trail to the headlands but it has been washed out according to the park attendant.

In the summer, from the Creamery Meadow Trail, there is a footbridge to go across the Big Sur River. This main trail connects to Andrew Molera State Beach as well as various other trails, such as the Ridge Trail and the Bluff trail. There's a nice secluded beach at the end of the Bluff trail.

Minutes outside of Andrew Molera State Park is the Point Sur Lighthouse. To visit, you'll need to take a 3 hour guided tour with a little bit of hiking uphill. The tour operates on a very limited schedule so check their website for visiting hours.

Another beautiful location just 20 more minutes down the road is the Garrapata State Park. There's a very scenic hiking trail right along the coast up on a bluff. Definitely worth the stroll. If you have more time, there are additional hiking trails within the same park.
