Ever since we got our second dog, our lawn has been taking a beating in the high traffic play areas in our back yard. After trying multiple things, I finally found a long term solution to my grass being ripped up when my pooches play chase in the backyard. In early spring, I installed plastic mesh fencing with garden spikes directly to the ground. The grass grew up and through the mesh and is now invisible. Now my large dogs can play and I don't have to worry that my back yard will turn into a mud pit.
