The Research Laboratory Coater (RLC) is a compact sheet coater with hot plate, integrated syringe pump and touch screen. It enables the creation of thin films using a wide choice of deposition techniques (slot-die coating, flexo, knife, bar, etc.)
In this video organic solar cells is prepared on Flextrode using the RLC. Active layer (PI-5) and hole transport layer (HTL) were slot-die coated and conductive silver paste was flexo printied to create flexible solar cells. Devices were encapsulated using X-5 UV curable adhesive before chracterization under illumination with the ISOSun solar simulator.
