My OEM battery was approaching 7 years old and left me stranded while playing with my kid at the park on a cold day. So, it was time for a new one!

This Point-of-View (POV) video shows that it is very easy to replace one of these batteries yourself. The hardest part was finding the holes for the metal strap during installation. My Mazda is a 2016 GT 2.5L but this should be nearly the same steps for most other Mazda 3 hatch and sedan models from 2014 to 2018.

As batteries age, they lose the ability to hold charge and can leave you stranded. Save time and money by replacing your own battery yourself! I went with a Walmart Everstart AGM battery because it had a 4 year warranty instead of 3 years like most batteries, and it was fairly priced.

Tools in use: 10mm and 12mm sockets. Please proceed at your own risk!
