One of the best ways to create a special bond and attachment to the prophet s.a.w is
to recite Salat and Salam as much as possible. Many mashaikh said, they achieved
what they achieved through Salat and Salam.

A hadith says that when we read Salat ala Al Nabi, it is presented to the prophet
s.a.w, and he seeks forgiveness for us, and he prays for us. He also guides us
through dream's, with the permission of Allah. We should send Salat and Salam upon
Rasul Allah s.a.w, and by this we will be the real beneficeries of our Salat and Salam.
We will gain peace of mind and tranquility.

There are many narrations with regards to these rewards. One narration of Nasa'i
goes on to say, not only ten Salawaat (blessings) are sent, but ten Hassanat (good deeds) are recorded in the book of deeds, ten Sayyiat (sins) are wiped out from his
record and ten ranks are raised in Jannah. So for one Salat, we receive 40 blessings
from Allah.

Transliteration
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā sayyidinā Muḥammadin ṣalātān tamuddu bihā a‘amāranā

Translation
O Allāh send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, a blessing by which our
lifespan is increased.
