Akua Naru is back with her newest Live & Aflame Sessions video release: "The Journey...Aflame". With this track, Naru takes us on a poetic/musical journey....newly interpreted, emotional, passionate. Naru invites in as she tells the story of African American women over a 400 year span from pre-Colonial Africa to the present day. The songs arrangement moves from spoken word performance to rap, from west african percussion to blues, rock, and hip hop. Recorded and filmed live at Maarwegstudio2 in Cologne, Germany, Naru is accompanied by her band DIGFLO as they play before a small audience.
