I haven't played Resident Evil 5 since its release in 2009 - I had fun with it at the time. I played the coop campaign and enjoyed it, but it was a noticeable step down from Resident Evil 4. For this playthrough of Resident Evil 5, I'll be using companion AI.

Plus, I didn't play the Resident Evil 5 DLCs at the time, so these will be fresh experiences. Coming back to Resident Evil 5 all these years, I still had fun, the game is well designed, but as far as the numbered Resident Evil titles go, it's nothing that really stands out.

It wouldn't be until nearly a decade later that numbered titles would return to their survival horror roots. If you enjoyed RE4, you'll enjoy RE5, and while Resident Evil 5 makes improvements in various areas, the overall package falls short of the masterclass design of RE4.
