Have you experienced synchronicity or a "meaningful coincidence"? Synchronicities are a major theme in Paulo Coelho's book "the Alchemist" which we look at in this video.

Before he wrote the Alchemist, Paulo Coelho always dreamed of being a writer. After experiencing an astonishing synchronicity and meeting a man who would become his spiritual guide and mentor, he decided that he would write a symbolic book. A metaphor for his life. That book would become the Alchemist.

The alchemist is a fable for life’s journey, and the hard choices we must make when we choose to follow our dreams. It tells the story of a young Spanish shepherd named Santiago. He has a reoccurring dream about a hidden treasure buried near the Egyptian pyramids.

One of the major themes of the book is the idea that synchronicities are central to our lives. The Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, referred to “synchronicity” as a meaningful coincidence, where two events aren’t connected by cause and effect, but are connected by meaning.

In the Alchemist, synchronicity play a very important role in Santiago’s journey. This video is an examination of the synchronicities that appear in his journey and efforts to live his Personal Legend.

It culminates with the message that Paulo Coelho reminds us of throughout the story: "when you really and truly want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it."
