6G Tig welding for beginners from root to cap is a welding test with a tig root pass on a 2" XXH wall, with a maximum tig welding procedure.
6G is where the pipe is fixed at a 45-degree angle and welded in this fixed position.
So, it basically covers flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead in a single position.
In this video, I will break down the steps to pass the 6G position test, starting with the root pass, hot pass and I will show the steps from fill passes to finish with a multi-pass cap.
The pipe welding techniques used, and the welding procedure as per ASME Section IX welder performance qualification (WPQ) pipe welding certification.
