We were alerted to the disappearance of Phyllis Potter in the beginning of September and were able to make our way to Westfield, Pennsylvania in mid-September. Phyllis disappeared after a stormy July night in her Subaru Outback after leaving a friend’s house and was never seen again.
There were many law-enforcement agencies involved in the search for Phyllis Potter. Searches were done by ground search organizations, community members, and several first responder agencies across the region.
Missing Local Town Legend Phyllis Potter's Vehicle And Human Remains Found In Woods. Leading the search for Phyllis, Penny Burnside, was able to assist us in locating local waterways to search. Penny was an absolute asset and provided us with crucial need-to-know information.
During our time there, after many days and many waterways searched, we were unable to find Ms. Phyllis.
On October 29th, Phyllis’s vehicle was located in a field approximately 100 to 150 yards off the road covered by brush and trees by a local gentleman who had began to see the sun shining off of her car during different periods of the day. There were remains found near the vehicle.
We are awaiting DNA confirmation for those remains, but they are presumed to be that of Phyllis Potter.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have helped in a small way to search for her and bring awareness to her case.
