This (USA) 2023 Audi Q7 Prestige is equipped with "HD Matrix-design LED headlights with Audi Laser light." The Matrix portion is not enabled from the factory due to NHTSA laws. However, the hardware is all there -- the functionality just needs to be activated via software.

I worked with "NPG Technology" (  / 100088124241081  ) to perform the Matrix light activation after reading about them through various forums. They shipped a loaner VAS5054A device, which plugged into the vehicle's OBDII port on one end, and the other into my Windows laptop's USB-A port. Then, they remotely logged into my vehicle and performed the necessary programming, which took about 15 minutes total. A host of warning & error messages appeared during the programming, but at the end of the session, no faults or codes remained.

Prior to the activation, the car only had automatic high beams, which would turn on if dark enough and no vehicles ahead. Once a vehicle was detected, the high beams would turn off. Post activation, the high beam is now comprised of several vertical segments, which can selectively turn on or off to cast a shadow for vehicles ahead. This allows everything else to be illuminated without blinding those vehicles.
