The battles for Avdiivka turned to be one of the bloodiest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In almost three weeks of battle, the Russian army was unable to make the quick breakthrough as it had planned. According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Russian army lost hundreds of people and hundreds of armored vehicles in these battles. The 59th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is fighting on the right flank of the Avdiivka direction. Correspondents of @RadioSvobodaUkraine spoke with the Ukrainian military, who are defending the city.
