2 hours at Barthomley LC, near to Alsager and next to Barthomley junction. It's situated on the line between Kidsgrove and Crewe. 390s usually only go through here once or twice a day, late at night. It also sees one CrossCountry Voyager a day, at about 5:50am.

The line used to be double track until June/July 1985, during BR's remodelling of Crewe. The track that exists now would have been the southbound line. The line was electrified around August 2003 I believe, so that Virgin trains could use it as a diversionary route.

Northbound trains (coming from the direction of the house) go at around 50mph through here, whilst southbound trains (coming from around the bend) go at about 60. There were 10 car Avanti Voyagers going through here that day as well, which I missed unfortunately.
