Using the data from Nasa’s transiting Exoplanet survey satellite, scientists just discovered a new Earth sized world and named it the TOI 700 E. The good news is it orbits within the habitable zone of its star - a region where water in its liquid form will be present on the planet’s surface. It is about 95% the size of the earth and it's a rocky planet.

The reason why scientists are obsessed with finding earth sized Planets within the habitable zone of a star has to do with the fact that the probability of finding life is highly likely when the planet is earth-like inorder to sustain complex extraterrestrial life.
