Russian security services said they detained three men in Dagestan who planned terrorist attacks in the region.

The country's anti-terrorist committee said the suspects were detained during the raids in Makhachkala and Kaspiyisk and weapons and ammunition were found at their apartments.

Footage released by broadcaster RU-RTR showed a heavy security presence around a raided apartment.

There were no casualties during the raid, the governor of Dagestan Sergey Melikov said in a statement on Telegram.

He added that suspects were found and detained after security measures in the region were enhanced following last week’s attack on a suburban Moscow concert hall that killed 144 people.
