In this video I recorded some good yard action at the Green River Wyoming UP yard. The video was recorded in 4K using a Panasonic G85 M43 camera as well as a shotgun microphone to pick up the audio. This was recorded on the 6th of December 2017 on a day that was freezing and partly cloudy with changing light levels.

The main focus of this video is the sorting activities of the near-ground train while through trains passed by. The yard is not a full on "hump yard" but it does have a slight hill that they use in combination with train momentum to shunt cars for sorting.

It's interesting to note that they do local manual switching several times while at other times the switching is remotely controlled.

Also included in the video is a view of the service pits where the engines are refueled and lubricated and common maintenance tasks are performed. In addition you see the pedestrian bridge from where this video was recorded.
