šš©ŗ Learn about an important blood biomarker I follow on all of my patients, known as Homocysteine.
š§¬ Homocysteine is an Inflammatory Amino Acid that builds up in your body. Your body gets rid of homocysteine with the help of B Vitamins š through a process called Methylationš”.
šŗ If your homocysteine is high, this means you're deficient in B Vitamins. I like to use Homocysteine as an inverse marker of your B vitamin needs. Ideal Homocysteine is 6 (lower the better)ā¬ļø.
ā¤ļøāš„ If your homocysteine is high, it is associated with greater cardiovascular risk (risk of heart attackš, strokeš, and dementiaš§ ), so lowering your homocysteine is a big part of preventing disease!
PMID: 36591781
š Solutions to Lower Homocysteine:
1ļøā£ Methyl B Complex -- can be taken daily to help with energyā”, stressš°, and methylationš”.
2ļøā£ Methylation Support -- this is a stronger supplement with the additional cofactor, trimethylglycine, to help lower homocysteineā¬ļø.
We carry both of these in our Supplement Store (see link in bio).
