I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have this 5L coyote engine in the f150 with me today and I wanted to make this video because after testing and reviewing different trucks and engines from all brands like RAM and CHEVY. the f150 with the 5L coyote engine is probably my favourite combo and my number one recommendation as a heavy duty mechanic.

1. Reliability
As I explained in the video this engine is not perfect and will never be. but I think the 5L coyote engine from ford give you a great chance to have good reliability and longevity. and the common issues this engine does face are much more inviting then issues other brands of engine are facing like lifter failures or turbo failures.

2. Power
This relatively small 5L v8 packs a huge punch for its size. this engine was originally desgined to compete with large displacment v8's like the 6.2L LS engine and the 6.4L hemi engine. Ford was able to compete because they extended the top end power by implementing dual overhead cams giving this engine the ability to revv much higher making much more power out of the small 5L's of displacement.

3. Fuel economy
This 5L is widly efficient for a 400Hp engine. and I think people are more and more concerned about fuel economy when it comes to 1500 trucks because they are becoming more the daily driver of alot of people and I think with the price of fuel having an efficient engine can make or break people decision about which truck and which engine to buy.

4. Towing
This 5L coyote engine in the f150 is a great towing engine. I was actually really surprised I thought the small displacement would really hurt this engine with a load behind it but instead this engine was a top 3 towing engine. outperforming all the bigger V8 engine all while getting better fuel economy.

5. Built in CANADA.
I love that this engine is built in Windsor Ontario. give me some good pride that the automotive sector in Windsor is still building engine like this and I just really like to see it.
