Previously we archived one of my favorite games from my childhood in the form of Pink Panther Passport to Peril, but some of you might not know that the same developers made a second Pink Panther game. This was titled Hokus Pokus Pink and though I did not own it at the time, I did rent it many, many times from the local library. Back in those days you could rent physical PC games for a week and by renting it multiple times I was able to beat it.
Therefore its a blast to return to this game once more and archive it amongst its older brother. Hokus Pokus Pink tells the story of Pink who arrives at a giant mansion where a sorcerer's apprentice turns a girl into a horrifying monster. Now its up to Pink to find the ingredients spread across the world and return the girl back to normal.
You get to visit many different places and actually learn about different countries and cultures. Though I also love Hokus Pokus Pink, I do think that Passport to Peril is better by a large margin.
Its mostly that some of the models and animations are not that detailed and it makes it sometimes feel a bit cheap or low effort. This was already apparent to me as a child when playing this. Nevertheless I do like the atmosphere since it feels more like a Halloween theme and some of the humor is very well written and funny. It makes me a bit sad that I now covered all the Pink Panther point 'n click games, but I am happy that they are added to the archives so that they won't be lost to time!
