Atkinson only made 118 buses, and barely any survive. We found two at Hooton Park Hangars and they were both very hard to drive! Enormously heavy manual steering and one still has a manual gearbox. Hard work!

An amazing driving experience though. Huge thanks to all involved.

XLG 477 is a 1956 Atkinson Alpha with Northern Counties bodywork. It served with SHMD Electricity and Transport board.

WBR 246 is a 1963 Atkinson Alpha with Marshall bodywork, serving with Sunderland Corporation. Initially a 5 speed manual, it is now a 4 speed pneumcyclic semi-automatic.
