Why we are fighting to make home repair handyman type work exempt from the restrictions placed on the handyman. State contractor boards aren't going after the handyman that sticks to home repair type jobs. If there isn't a license for what you are doing, then the state has no basis for charges. Most Investigators won't pursue charges if you are certified by the UHA. They are looking for the guy who is not safe, no insurance and doing jobs that require a license and permits. The Contractor's license was started for safety reasons. The UHA/National Association of Handymen Certifies just like any other Trade Association. Have the UHA Certified Handyman License in your back pocket and get education from the association how to run your business without risk of prosecution. https://unitedhandymanassociation.org
