For this recipe you can add more or less chiles to adjust for spiciness level. Both of these recipes turned out VERY spicy!
Aguachiles Verdes:
1 Lb. of Shrimp
½ Cup Lime Juice
1 Cucumber
½ Red Onion
5-7 Serrano Peppers (can be subbed by green chiltepin or jalapeño)
1 Garlic Clove
1 Bunch of Cilantro
- If your shrimp is not clean, de-skin and de-gut your shrimp. Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Marinate your shrimp in lime juice for 30 min to a 1 hour
- Toast your chiles and garlic
- Blend your chiles, garlic, cilantro and lime juice from marinate, add salt to taste.
- Mix your blend, shrimp, cucumber (half moons) and onion (slices)
Aguachiles Rojos:
1 Lb. of Shrimp
½ Cup Lime Juice
1 Cucumber
½ Red Onion
10-15 Chiles de Arbol (can be subbed by dry chiltepin, or a combination of both)
2 Garlic Clove
1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp. Magi Sauce
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp. Red Sauce
- If your shrimp is not clean, de-skin and de-gut your shrimp. Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Marinate your shrimp in lime juice for 30 min to a 1 hour
- Toast your chiles and 1 garlic
- Blend your chiles, garlic, and lime juice from marinate.
- Mix your blend, shrimp, Soy Sauce, Magi Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, Red Sauce cucumber (half moons) and onion (slices), and salt to taste.
