The always-loathsome Bankrupt Barry takes a crack at reviewing another cherished film. Starring Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Dustin Hoffman, and Bob Hoskins, Steven Spielberg's Hook (1991) is a film that has always been steeped in controversy. At first blush, Spielberg seems to offer a fairly standard morality play in terms of Peter Panning (Robin Williams) transitioning from a wealthy and joyless businessman to a childish, impulsive Parsifal character after his stay in Neverland. But is this the most accurate interpretation, or is there a deeper message indicating that Williams' Panning character can never truly escape from Neverland?
