I am a HUGE fan of the Bronze Age, and I believe it can be an amazing setting for a Total War game. But the fact is many Total War players out there including myself are looking at the Total War: Pharaoh map right now, and thinking for a whopping $60 that’s just not good enough.

Until now I've kept up hope that Pharaoh might be a Historical Total War that goes back to the roots of the series a bit more than it let on at first. Interesting campaign mechanics like the Pillars of Civilization, the Kingdom courts and others do look quite good. But after the First Impression Previews of various creators and gaming companies out there I have finally lost any hope I had whatsoever.

In this video I go through all of my honest opinions about why Pharaoh looks like it will be a complete let down from the completely mediocre battles to the lack of massive mechanics and cultures that should be present here in a Bronze Age game that calls itself a Major Historical Total War.
