Our hands on tests of these knives included a variety of tasks from chopping, to carving with a mix of batoning and feather sticking. We also opened a lot of beer bottles with them.

Most of the knives we chose for this video have blades under 4 inches, because we find that smaller knives are more convenient for horizontal carry. However, we have talked to many folks who like to scout or horizontal carry larger knives, so we included two of our favorite survival knives.
