In this video I make home made Limoncello using lemons from our property following the traditional Italian recipe!

Ingredients (scale up or down)
250ml Pure Alcohol (96%)
At least 4 large lemons - more for extra flavour
750ml fresh water
250mg Sugar

Peel the rind of the lemon, taking just the yellow skinand avoiding the white fleshy part. Leave the rind to masserate in the pure alcohol for at least 4 days.

Heat sugar in the water until fully dissolved.

Strain the lemon rind from the alcohol and add the mixture to the sugar water.

Bottle, freeze and enjoy!

This makes Limoncello with about 24% ABV. Calculation: 96% x 250ml = 240ml of ethanol which is 24% of total volume of 1lt (250ml + 750ml). Change the ratios for higher or lower. For example to make 32% ABV Limoncello would require 500ml of sugar water. Most Limoncello is between 24% to 32% ABV.
