The 2023 Kentucky Maple School took place on November 4, 2023 at the Berea College Forestry Outreach Center. The school opened up with a presentation from Nate Bissell who shared his story of becoming one of the largest maple syrup producers in Ohio. After that, Dr. Mike Rechlin speaks about southern maple syrup production challenges and research.

Maple syrup vendors—Brandon Daniels covered tubing systems and reverse osmosis while Jimmy Brochtrup covered boiling, finishing, and filtering. The school concluded with Ben and Emma McKinney providing some maple treats as they demonstrated several value added maple products.
