This is one of the first steps besides a consultation when starting your own transportation company.

As always, I never recommend doing any legal/tax items on yoyur own. However, I know there are a lot of savvy people out there that will do it on their own.

This video goes step by step on how to go to the irs.gov site and get your EIN number in less than 5 minutes. This is your federal tax id, so once you open it up you will need to always file taxes even if you made any money on it or not.

If you will no longer use the EIN number make sure to contact IRS and shut it down.
