Cut off again. Just snipped some closing remarks, nothing important.

Just a nice sauntering at golden hour and some commentary-lite. The charge was destined to fail just as were the South's overall chances at winning the war. Slim to none. i still may be a sophomore regarding particulars of the battles, but i know this: the Civil War was a war of ATTRITION. It didn't really boil down to which side had better generals (no shortage in both), or even strategies. It came down to manpower (this is why Lee could never have even taken any given hill in Gettysburg - for long); it came down to steel manufacturing (the North could replace RxR tracks and canons, the South had to repair or commandeer them); it came down to textile mills (Many Confederates had no shoes after about the time of Gettysburg); and it came down to food production (hence the northern raids).

The South was doomed the minute P.G.T. Beauregard fired on Ft. Sumter.

i still have much to learn about the generals, and the battles, and the names and the dates. But i have socioeconomic theory down pretty good.
