Boarding is almost always the fastest way to resolve a battle. In Naval Action, boarding is a round-based fight in which you choose one of the following actions per round: brace, attack / counter-attack, defend, fire deck guns, musket volley, fire grenades, or; disengage. Each action uses up a certain amount of your preparation value. Preparation is built up while bracing.
