This was our first trip on the Norristown High Speed Line which is formerly the Philadelphia and Western Railway. This interurban rapid transit line runs between Norristown and 69th Street Transportation Centers very 30 minutes. The line uses 25 ABB N5 cars which replaced the antique 1930s J.G Brill Bullets which were very reliable and smooth, running alongside the Lehigh Valley Red Devils which ran on the Liberty Bell Limited Line, and the same tracks as the Norristown Bullets where they got on to Main Street Station just before continuing on to Allentown. However in 1953, the Lehigh Valley ended service on the line, and ended all their other services. Sadly, due to declining ridership in March 1956, the Strafford Branch of the Philadelphia & Western Railway was discontinued, closing 10 stations west of Villanova. This line is considered as a trolley line, even though it doesn't go to any streets. People simply just nicknamed it the Route 100. Regardless if it was considered as a trolley line.
