Dating to 1978, this brief film from NASA shows the Space Shuttle Enterprise landing tests and discusses the payload capabilities of the spacecraft. At 1;01, NASA's Director of Pricing Launch Agreements and Customer Engineering Services Mike Smith shows off the Shuttle's payload bay. On each flight, the orbiter can carry up to 65,000 pounds. At 1:37, the Shuttle's manipulator arm is shown in a simulation moving a satellite into orbit. At 2:00, Smith notes that customers should be able to save money by using the Space Shuttle Transportation System when compared to a Delta rocket. At 2:28, the ESA Spacelab experiment module is illustration and Smith discusses the role of the mission specialist. At 3:00, the habitable module of the ESA is explained. At 3:11, students from Utah who may have experiments flown in space are shown at Edwards AFB observing the Shuttle landing. At 3:42, Enterprise is shown on final approach to Edwards while the narrator discusses the companies that have reserved experimental space aboard the Shuttle orbiter.
