Football fans generally don’t pay attention to the quality of a field that the games are being played on – unless it’s soaked in rain, snow or mud. Quite frankly, the quality of the playing surface should only matter if you’re one of the players, right?

Not necessarily. I mean, we’re in the golden era of technology, and the NFL continues to enjoy massive surges in revenue. Theoretically, every NFL stadium should have a safe, durable playing surface. But nope. Unfortunately, one-third of the league’s playing fields are in pretty rough shape, often leaving our favorite players susceptible to serious injuries.
