This is a clip of David Bohm speaking about the incoherence in human thought and the need to suspend assumptions in order to engage in dialogue. This clip was taken from "Art Meets Science & Spirituality in a Changing Economy"    • Art Meets Science & Spirituality in a...

I had attended 6 years of David Bohm's Ojai dialogue seminars. He was a very powerful presence who was trying with all his life energy to help lift humanity onto a better trajectory.

Back in 1990 I arranged to bring David Bohm to meet with the leaders of Apple Computer. John Vasconcellos a good friend and the Chair of California's Ways and Means committee, and Peter Senge of MIT were also involved. Senge, because a central component of his book, the 5th Discipline, was based on Bohm's dialogue work.

We did a 2 hour ish session with Apple's top brass and later Bohm gave a talk that was broadcast live on Apple's internal TV station.

At Apple Bohm was sharing his dialogue work and proposing that we could improve everything we care about by engaging in a new way of sharing meaning - a new way of sharing that prohibited individual beliefs from trumping our collective learning together.

What stood out from that day was being pulled aside by Apple's Executive VP of Marketing and being asked: "What does dialogue have to do with running a company or selling Macintoshes?"
