The Polo is bigger and more advanced than ever before, which not only puts it up against the Ford Fiesta but also its bigger sibling - the VW Golf.

So what's new on the 2022 Polo? For starters, there are a few small changes to the design including reworked head and tail lights. You also get revised VW badges, new wheel options (15s, 16s, 17s (and 18s on the GTI)) plus the Polo name in the centre of the boot lid. But it's the upgrades on the inside that are the headline grabbers here. You now get a digital instrument cluster on all models bar the entry-spec Polo, while the mid-spec infotainment system (which again comes on all cars but the base model) is a real step forwards from the old car. The steering wheel has also been upgraded, though without the haptic feedback controls of the Golf, and you also get a suite of semi-autonomous modes across the range. It's the most complete Polo to date, but does it justify its £20,000 price tag?
