- Can you upgrade my MacBook’s CPU?
No, we’re not routinely replace CPU everyday listening to Tech Music Background. We only offer CPU replacement IF the CPU was damaged, ie; water damaged, cracked CPU die, shorted on PPVCORE, etc. You will not happy to hear the replacement price though.

- Can my mac support Intel Core i9?
Yes, only if you are using MacBook 15-inch 2018 and above that natively support this CPU.

- I have MacBook 2012, can I upgrade to Core i9?
Simply NO, because 1. The BGA socket/solder pad is different, 2. Newer CPUs need latest EFI support. So MAYBE, if someone MOD this 2012 EFI to work with latest CPU, only then newer CPUs will be supported(FACT- modifying Apple EFI is Illegal and you might get serious trouble if not done properly).

Ie: Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge shares the same CPU socket, but swapping them vice versa will cause the Mac refuse to turn on, unless you MOD the EFI (iMac 2011). The same case happens for Skylake-KabyLake-CoffeeLake: they have the same CPU socket but need latest EFI support to work(iMac 2015-2019).

- Is there a secret trick for this CPU replacement to be 100% successful?
The answer is yes, especially with this so called ‘long shaped’ CPU.
1. Preheat board in oven(100C) at least for 1 hour to avoid board warping.
2. Remove the CPU with Lead-Free temp(notice that we place it ON JIG). 1:20
3. Reball with leaded 0.45mm/0.5mm balls(we are forced to do this by hand reballing as stencil only allows you at most 0.4mm).
4. Reball is done on logicboard, not CPU(to prevent excessive heat to CPU Die and thus killing it).
5. Reflow solder balls with leaded temp(notice that we place it ON IR GLASS – NOT JIG) 2:22
6. Remove Lead-Free balls from New CPU
7. THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP : Reflow CPU + board at leaded temp(notice that we place it FREELY on IR glass without any jigs, allowing the board to freely flex with the “bent CPU form” at reflow temp) 3:18
8. This method applicable to all “long shaped” CPU as in MBP 2013-2019, MBA 2013-2017.

- Does touchbar or touch id works after CPU replacement?
