Game Devlogs are great for the entire game dev community, but can they impact how we view our own effort? As game development becomes increasingly popular along side the number of indie developers and Game Engines, do we really acknowledge how difficult game development can be and how much effort it can take?

Many game devlogs focus on pure entertainment, whereas others focus on teaching or a balance between the two. Despite that, a lot of videos still lack direct acknowledgement of the challenge and effort that's required to make anything - leading you to believe it should be flawless, effect how you view your own effort and scare away beginners.

Regardless of what anyone is making, new and old game devs alike, everyone struggles with motivation, learning, and creating no matter how 'simple' it seems. This is the best tip to help escape development hell and improve motivation.

Don't let game devlogs affect your perception of how 'easy' something 'should' be, how long it 'should' take or undervalue and compare the effort you put in to making anything you've made.
