Grumpy and I went out to do a quick and simple recovery of a father and son who got stuck in the ice. But as we were heading back down the mountain form that job we got a call asking if we could go try to locate and recovery four people who were stranded much farther up the mountain. Since it sounded like a pretty serious situation, I reached out to the Forest Service law enforcement deputy who was on duty for that area and together we decided that since I was so much closer than any of them, I should just head up and see if I could get to the stranded people. So I turned back up the mountain and headed into the woods. After an hour and half through the snow we finally found them high centered and stuck in the middle of the road. So I got around them and a quick pull with the @YankumRopes got them up to a good turn around spot.
From there we started back down the mountain, and had to hook the rope back up one more time through a particular deep spot, but eventually made it out without further issue. I let law enforcement know that everyone was safe and we were all out of the woods, and then grumpy and I headed home.
