DOLCE AND GABBANA IN FLORENCE: A HOLIDAY FOR THE EYE AND THE SOUL
Prof. Lubomir Stoykov, Chairman of the Academy of Fashion, commented on one of the most stunning outdoor fashion shows:
"The most famous Italian fashion duo Dolce and Gabbana continues to arouse admiration both with their unique collections and with the extremely attractive way of presenting them. At the heart of their style are ethnic values and postmodern eclecticism, and pop culture fetishes. One of their most dizzying fashion shows - that of their haute couture collection, spring-summer 2021, was inspired by the Italian Renaissance and Florentine culture. It could hardly be found in a suitable place for this purpose from Villa Bardini in Florence, where 89 outfits were presented in compliance with the prescriptions of the health authorities and impressive guests from all over the world - a fantastic explosion of colors, prints, embroidery, lace, 3D flowers, feathers, tulle and beautiful appliques and decorations. A celebration for the eye and the soul and a shining example of the renaissance mission of contemporary Italian fashion - in one sentence we can summarize another powerful cultural, aesthetic and artistic message of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana!”.

Villa Bardini, with its monumental garden and its panorama of Florence, hosted the Alta Moda fashion show.

Received in concession following the inheritance of antiquarian Stefano Bardini, Fondazione CR Firenze restored the marvellous space filled with statues and artistic and architectonic artifacts, rich with history and beauty.
