Compared to 20 years ago, Japan’s VC industry has evolved significantly. No longer are deals necessarily small, nor are all VC associated with banks or insurance companies. The rise of a vibrant domestic VC industry has also attracted more foreign funds. And as financing options for startup companies have diversified, more entrepreneurs enjoy broader access to funding.
