In this video I go over how to replace a propeller on a Yamaha F series engine, in this case an F70. Perhaps, just as important, is why I am changing the Propeller. The F70 came with a Solas Saturn SS prop in 13.5x15. This prop was probably fine on the boat it cam off of (a shallower V aluminum side console) but it would only get up to 5200 RPM and 32 MPH. Some research revealed that the "perfect" prop for a classic Boston Whaler Montauk 17 matched with a Yamaha F70LA is a Yamaha Performance Series 3-Blade in 13-1/4" x 14", Part# MAR-GYT3B-V4-14.

However, this is expensive, so following my nature I researched and although at first I could not find a inexpensive prop in that size, I eventually found the The PowerTech Red 3 in the same exact size and in Stainless Steel. Better yet, I found a dealer with free shipping who had the best price of anywhere carrying that prop. So I ordered it and put it on in this video. Hopefully, I'll get the performance gains I would get with the recommended Yamaha Prop. I'll put up a video on the results later after I take it out for a test run.

Here's a link to the dealer and prop I am testing out.
