Today, I’m going to tell you the story of a car that was the most expensive production car in the world at its time and the first real independent Bentley in almost 40 years – Bentley Continental R produced from 1991 to 2003.

It also had a “hot” version Continental T (well even more hot version – Continental R was hot enough) and a convertible version – Bentley Azure.

This car, built on the SZ platform of Rolls-Royce, was huge and heavy despite being a 2-door coupe. But it was really fast, thanks to the 6.75-liter V8 engine with over 300 horse powers (later – over 400), and monstrous 450-590 lb-ft of torque.

It was a car of very high quality and comfort. And it was one of the most comfortable cars for high-speed cruising, for speeds over 120 miles per hour. And probably, it still is today.

This car, being together very rare, exclusive, and luxurious (and the most expensive in the world on top of this) gave its owners all the status and exclusivity they wanted. And it was a really good car. Maybe not the best one in history, but really good and well-balanced
