The Special Air Service (SAS) operator, Christian Craighead, who responded to and stopped a terror attack in Nairobi, Kenya received the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross for his actions that day.

The four bad guys who took on the luxury Dusit D2 complex were eliminated.. 21 innocent people lost their lives- and a year later, another woman succumbed to her injuries sustained during the event.

The Special Air Service (SAS) is a special forces unit of the British Army. The unit specialises in a number of roles including counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action and covert reconnaissance. Much of the information about the SAS is highly classified, and the unit is not commented on by either the British government or the Ministry of Defense due to the secrecy and sensitivity of its operations.
