Did you know that the canon Japanese Pokedex book that was never released in the west includes a very interesting lecture given by Professor Oak? It provides some SUPER interesting insight into the original idea of Pokemon before the concept of "multiple generations" came around! It brings up the Gen-1 idea of real animals living side by side with Pokemon, and even brings up a few darker aspects... "Pokemon doping." oh boy. Bill later butts himself in to talk more about Pokemon training after Professor Oak is done too.
